Williams Still Limited, and Denver Is Getting Closer
Leonard Williams was limited in practice again, and with Denver on the horizon, the defensive line depth question that I flagged here on October 9 hasn't gone away — it's just gotten a little more urgent. Williams isn't on the current injury report as out, but limited reps this late in the week tend to narrow the options for a coaching staff trying to game-plan against a road opponent.
The depth chart behind him at defensive end runs Derick Hall, Mike Morris, and Aidan Hubbard. Hall is the one piece of good news — his extension got done, he's healthy, and he's been the most reliable presence on that edge all season. Morris and Hubbard are fine as rotational pieces. They are less fine as the answer if Williams misses significant time against a Denver offense that will test the interior and the edge in equal measure.
Brandon Pili is active and Deven Eastern is back after his PUP activation, so the tackle spots have some bodies. The concern is more about the cumulative weight of it — Williams limited, Chazz Surratt out, the defensive back group still sorting itself out. No single piece is catastrophic. The collection of them is what bears watching heading into the week.
