Ty Jerome drops 45 on opening night, setting a new Grizzlies franchise record

Ty Jerome scored 45 points on opening night Wednesday, breaking the Grizzlies' previous franchise record for points in a season opener. Jerome is Memphis's top guard by playing time and has been the team's primary offensive engine through the early going.

The record-setting performance gives Memphis a notable moment to open the 2026-27 season. No injuries were reported heading into the game, and the Grizzlies' roster — anchored by Zach Edey at center and a young frontcourt that includes Cameron Boozer and Cedric Coward — was at full strength for the debut.
