This is the fourth note on Kansas City's receiver room, and the situation hasn't improved.
Worthy is still Questionable. Cyrus Allen is still Questionable. Mahomes is still Questionable himself, working through the careful ramp-up that follows a torn ACL and LCL. The problem isn't any single injury — it's that the window when a returning quarterback most needs live repetitions with his pass-catchers keeps shrinking, and the guys who should be on the other end of those throws keep missing practice.
Travis Kelce is active and healthy, which matters. Hollywood Brown played 16 games last season and is the most experienced option in the room behind Kelce. But the depth beyond those two has been the question all camp, and the Questionable tags on Worthy and Allen don't answer it. Worthy was a genuine piece of this offense last year — 42 catches, 532 yards — and Allen had been one of the early standouts before the shin bruise knocked him out of a special teams drill.
The Chiefs went 6-11 last season in large part because they couldn't execute when it mattered. Fixing that starts with chemistry, and chemistry starts with reps. Right now Mahomes isn't getting enough of them with the right people.
