Swift is back at practice. Wright is still a question mark.
D'Andre Swift returned to practice and is listed as Questionable, which counts as good news in a week when good news has been scarce for this offense. He's the only established back on the roster — Salvon Ahmed is the fallback, and the drop between them is steep — so his availability matters in a way that goes beyond the usual injury-report math.
The complication is what's happening in front of him. Darnell Wright, the right tackle the Bears just made the highest-paid at his position in NFL history, is also Questionable. Jonah Jackson at guard is Questionable too. That's two of the five starters on the injury report at the same time, and it's the third stretch in as many weeks where the offensive line has been the story rather than the backdrop. Braxton Jones is already on Injured Reserve.
Swift returning helps. A functional backfield with a shaky line is at least a functioning offense. But if Wright can't go, the Bears are asking their most important skill player to run behind a patchwork front, which is a different calculation entirely. We'll know more by game time.
