Sweat is suspended. Dayo Odeyingbo is questionable. That's the depth chart.

Montez Sweat is serving a suspension, and the Bears' defensive end position is now functionally one player — and that player is listed as questionable. Dayo Odeyingbo, who logged no meaningful production all season, is the name behind Sweat on the depth chart. There is no one else with snaps to point to.

I noted this coming in the piece two days ago: the defensive end situation was already Sweat and a gap. The suspension converts that gap into the starting assignment. Dennis Allen's defense will be asked to generate pressure without its only proven rusher, in a secondary that has been short-handed since August.

The broader problem is that this team built its 2025 success on close-game execution — margins that required everything to hold. The defense was already the thinner half of that equation. Losing Sweat for two games doesn't break the structure, but it stress-tests exactly the part of the roster that had no slack to give.
