Smith and Wicks are both out tonight, and McKee is on his own

The Eagles made it official Saturday: DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks are both ruled out for Monday night against Dallas. Smith didn't practice all week. That's the top two receivers on the depth chart, gone, for a quarterback who has thrown 423 yards and 3 touchdowns across three starts and has not yet faced anything close to this thin a supporting cast.

What McKee has to work with: Erik Ezukanma and Britain Covey at receiver, a tight end room that lost E.J. Jenkins to a waiver cut this week and has Dallas Goedert listed as a knee concern after he couldn't practice Thursday. The one piece of good news is Saquon Barkley, who returned to practice after missing two games with a hamstring injury and is in the mix to play. If Barkley goes, at least McKee has somewhere to dump the ball when the routes aren't there. If he doesn't, the Eagles are leaning on a backfield that has been reshuffled four times in the last week.

Philadelphia is 2-4, four straight losses, averaging more than five points worse than their opponents per game. This is not a team that can absorb a night like this easily. The Cowboys game was already the kind of spot where you needed things to go right. Now the margin is even smaller.
