Richardson Stayed. That's the Whole Story.
Anthony Richardson was benched, got hurt, and asked to be traded. He's still here. The depth chart has him at quarterback behind Jalen Morton heading into Week 1, and that's apparently where things settled — no drama, no departure, just a young player who went through a rough stretch and came out the other side still on the roster.
The news piece framed it as perseverance, and that's fair enough. What it also is, practically speaking, is the Colts holding onto a quarterback with legitimate physical tools at a position where the backup conversation matters. Daniel Jones is the starter and was cleared to full status after a torn Achilles, but the contingency behind him is real. Richardson staying gives Indianapolis a known quantity in that role rather than a stranger.
It's a small item in a camp full of louder ones — Pierce still out, the special teams coordinator vacancy, the secondary questions that haven't gone away. But roster continuity is part of what this offseason was supposed to be about, and Richardson sticking around is a quiet piece of that. The Colts didn't add a problem. They kept what they had.
