Ransaw to IR, and Jacksonville's Secondary Is Thinner Than It Looks
Caleb Ransaw is on Injured Reserve ahead of the London stretch, and the Jaguars have responded by activating Jourdan Lewis and Alijah Huzzie. Eric Murray remains Questionable. Christian Braswell is also Questionable. That is a lot of uncertainty concentrated in one part of the roster at a moment when the schedule offers no easy weeks.
Lewis has been a reliable presence — two interceptions in 12 games last season — and his activation matters. But the broader picture is what it is: Jacksonville is patching the secondary with available bodies rather than depth it planned to use. The front office knew this part of the roster was thin coming in. The Ransaw move just made that thinness visible on the injury report.
This fits the pattern I've been tracking all year. The offensive line concerns, the Durfee IR placement before the season even started, Mekari still unavailable — Jacksonville's margin for error has never been wide. The 2025 record was real, but the point differential always suggested a team running closer to the edge than the wins implied. The secondary situation heading into London is the latest reminder of that.
