Rams Camp Housekeeping: Simpson In, Donald Still Pending
Ty Simpson cleared his final paperwork hurdle on July 25, signing his rookie deal and ending a brief holdout that had been the last loose thread from the 2026 draft class. He's active, he's in Thousand Oaks, and the QB depth chart now reads Stetson Bennett, Simpson, and Matthew Caldwell behind Stafford. That's the room.
The Aaron Donald situation is a different kind of open item, and I wrote about it Friday — McVay said he doesn't expect a decision until after camp breaks. The framing was notably calm for a question that could reshape the defensive line. For now, the Rams are proceeding without him, and the depth chart reflects that.
Two notes worth carrying into the week: Myles Garrett remains questionable, which is worth monitoring given how much the defense leans on him, and Alaric Jackson is still questionable on the offensive line. Neither is an emergency yet, but early camp is when these things either resolve or become a story.
Nothing here changes the larger picture. The roster is talented, the draft class is integrated, and the real questions — Nacua's contract, clutch execution, what happens when this team plays away from SoFi — don't get answered in Thousand Oaks.
