Porzingis Still Has No Timetable, and the Season Has Already Started
Golden State opened its regular season without Kristaps Porzingis, who remains out indefinitely with an undisclosed health issue that dates back to the start of training camp. No timeline has been offered. The Warriors have not said much, and there is not much more to add on that front.
I noted when camp opened that this situation had an uncomfortable open-endedness to it — no injury category, no projected return window, just "indefinitely." That has not changed. The team is playing games now, which means every day without him is a day the rotation has to function around his absence rather than plan for his return.
Porzingis was brought in as part of a three-piece offseason overhaul alongside Al Horford and De'Anthony Melton. The idea was to give Stephen Curry a more complete supporting cast. So far, Curry is carrying the load he has always carried. The pieces around him are still being sorted out.
