Packers bring back Castles, adding another body to a tight end room they've been stacking all summer

Green Bay re-signed McCallan Castles on August 4, returning a tight end the team had released earlier this offseason before the draft. No terms were reported.

The timing is worth noting. Kraft came off the PUP list July 31 and is listed as questionable, still working back from the ACL he tore in November. Luke Musgrave is behind him on the depth chart. Castles gives the room another option while the front office waits to see how Kraft's ramp-up goes through the preseason.

This is the third tight end-related move Green Bay has made in roughly two weeks, counting Kraft's activation and the coverage I filed on that. The position has been a recurring subject all summer, and the front office keeps adding to it rather than assuming the problem is solved.
