Now Ullmark, Too

Linus Ullmark was crashed into during the second period in Boston and did not return, the team calling it precautionary. He is day-to-day. The Senators won 4-1 anyway — Stutzle scored twice — but the result is almost beside the point now.

The blue line situation I've been tracking all week just got company. Sanderson is out for at least two games, Donovan is day-to-day, Montgomery is on IR, and now the starting goaltender is uncertain. Leevi Merilainen and Samuel Ersson are both in the picture behind Ullmark, which is fine as a regular-season contingency and a different conversation entirely when the playoffs are days away.

Ottawa built its path to the postseason around keeping its core intact. That plan is fraying in several directions at once.
