Legette and Coker are both out, and Carolina's receiver room is down to one
Jalen Coker is questionable with a quad strain. Xavier Legette's knee has knocked him out entirely. That leaves Tetairoa McMillan as the only wide receiver on this roster who has played meaningful snaps this season — and Sunday's game is in Detroit, in prime time.
The position was already a concern before either player went down. The depth chart behind McMillan carries names, but none of them have logged real production this year. That's been a structural problem all season, not a new one. What's new is that Legette, who caught 36 passes for 371 yards and three touchdowns in 2025, was at least a functional second option. Now he's not available, and Coker is a game-time question at best.
Young will have McMillan, Darren Waller at tight end, and whatever the running backs can do in the passing game. That's a workable short list against a bad defense. Detroit is not a bad defense. My read is that this is the week the receiver thinness actually shows up in the box score rather than just the depth chart.
