Lamb Is Questionable. So Is the Offense's Ability to Carry This Team.
CeeDee Lamb is listed Questionable after leaving Thursday's loss to Tampa Bay, and the timing is bad in a specific way. The defense has been the story in Dallas for months — safeties gone, linebackers thin, pass rushers suspended — but the offense was the thing you could point to and say: at least that holds. Lamb's exit puts that assumption on notice.
The receiver depth behind him is real cause for concern. George Pickens is active and healthy, and last season he was the team's most productive wideout — 93 catches, 1,429 yards, nine touchdowns. That's a genuine No. 2 who can function as a No. 1. But beyond Pickens, the cupboard gets thin fast. Jonathan Mingo is the next name on the depth chart with meaningful snaps, and the drop-off is significant. There's no proven third option at receiver who's logged real production this season.
What makes this worth watching is how Prescott operates without Lamb drawing coverage. Last season, Dak spread the ball well enough — Jake Ferguson caught everything thrown his way and was a reliable red-zone target — but the offense's ability to win close games leaned on having multiple genuine threats. Remove Lamb from that picture, even for a week, and the math gets harder.
Lamb's Questionable tag doesn't mean he misses time. It might be nothing. But this is a team that has been one injury away from a crisis at every position for two months now, and the offense was the last room with any margin to spare.
