Jaycee Horn is on Injured Reserve, and now the other starting corner is gone too
Mike Jackson is the only cornerback on this roster who has logged meaningful snaps this season. That's it. Jaycee Horn has been on Injured Reserve, and with the second starting corner now also out for the year, Carolina is down to one healthy CB with any real game experience behind him — and nobody after that. The depth chart lists names, but names aren't coverage reps.
The analyst piece yesterday framed this as a one-cornerback situation. That was already the case before this latest loss. Now the margin for error is gone entirely. Whatever Dave Canales's staff cobbles together behind Jackson will be players who haven't played meaningful snaps at this level, asked to cover NFL receivers in a division that can punish thin secondaries.
My read is that the Panthers need to be on the phone with every available veteran corner who can still run. Whether anyone worth having is out there, I don't know — but standing pat isn't a plan. This team already had a secondary problem going back to 2025. It just got considerably worse.
