Jacob Wilson Sets MLB Shortstop Record With 111 Consecutive Errorless Games

Jacob Wilson reached 111 consecutive games without an error on August 9, surpassing every shortstop in MLB history to set the all-time record at the position. The milestone stands on its own regardless of what surrounds it in the standings.

The Athletics are 40-54 and fifth in the AL West, with 11 players currently on the injured list and a season that has deteriorated sharply since a strong April. Wilson's streak is the clearest piece of good news the organization has had in some time.
