Indianapolis Brought Edwards Back. That's the Story at Corner Right Now.
The Colts made another move at cornerback, bringing back Edwards after cutting a former starter. It is the third roster shuffle at the position I've noted in as many weeks, and it follows the same pattern: the team is cycling through options because nothing behind Charvarius Ward has stuck.
Ward himself played only seven games last season and was not particularly effective when he did play. The depth behind him — Justin Walley and Rob Carter on the current chart — has logged no meaningful snaps. That is not a depth chart so much as a list of names. Bringing Edwards back does not change the structural picture; it just adds another body to a room that has needed a real answer since the offseason began.
My read is that this move tells you more about the state of the position than any single transaction can fix. The Colts have been working out corners, making cuts, and now recycling a familiar name. At some point the shuffling has to stop and someone has to play. Week 2 is coming.
