Hyman Leaves Against Detroit With Head Injury
Zach Hyman exited Tuesday's game against the Red Wings with a head injury, the latest name added to what has become a running list for Edmonton this month. No timeline has been given.
The timing is rough. Hyman had only just returned to the lineup on October 17th after missing time, and the left-wing position was already thin before this. Even with him in the lineup, the depth chart there has been leaning heavily on Viljami Marjala, who has quietly carried a disproportionate share of the position's workload. Hyman's absence pushes that further down a short bench.
Worth noting: this is the same week Ekholm's concussion was confirmed and Devon Levi was placed on injured reserve. Edmonton has been absorbing these in quick succession, and the forward group is now feeling it the way the defense did a few days ago. More on Hyman's status when it comes.
