Hart Exits Morning Skate; Hill Gets the Call Tuesday
Carter Hart left Vegas's morning skate Tuesday with an undisclosed injury, sustained during a 2-on-1 drill when he went down to make a butterfly save. No timeline has been offered. Adin Hill will start against Ottawa tonight.
The split in the depth chart has been roughly even between the two all season, so Hill isn't walking into a cold net. He's handled a starter's share of the work before and knows the role. The short-term concern isn't Hill's readiness — it's the word "undisclosed" and the absence of any return estimate.
Beyond the crease, Vegas already carries some thin spots elsewhere on the roster. The defense drops off sharply after Shea Theodore, and the center depth behind Jack Eichel is limited. A prolonged Hart absence would add a third pressure point to a group that doesn't have a lot of margin behind its top names. For now, though, it's Hill's net and Tuesday's game against Ottawa is the only thing that matters.
