Gill Back on a One-Year Deal, and Washington's Roster Is Set

Anthony Gill re-signed with the Wizards on Tuesday, one season, and that's the last move before preseason. Washington announced the deal without fanfare, which fits — Gill is frontcourt depth, not a headline name, and that's exactly what he's being asked to be.

The timing closes out a summer that looked nothing like the one before it. Young, Dybantsa, Ayton, Middleton, Davis — the core assembled between late June and August is the most credentialed group this franchise has put together in years. Gill slots in behind all of them, a veteran forward who knows his role and won't complicate the rotation.

The roster is done. Preseason is next.
