Devin White Is a Lion Now. Las Vegas Needs to Move Fast on the Secondary.
White signed with Detroit on Sunday, and that closes the book on the Raiders' most productive defensive player from 2025. He led Las Vegas in tackles last season — 174 of them, with 2.5 sacks — and now that production belongs to a conference rival. It stings a little, but the front office has known this was coming, and the more pressing question was always what comes next for a secondary that was genuinely bad last year.
The corner situation is the part that keeps this offseason unsettled. Jermod McCoy, who missed all of 2025 with a knee injury, is still listed as Questionable — a status that was supposed to improve by now and hasn't. The team has been linked to Terrion Arnold as an external option, and my read is that McCoy's uncertain timeline makes that pursuit more urgent, not less. Isaiah Pola-Mao is back and healthy, which helps, but one reliable safety doesn't paper over the corner depth questions.
The Raiders are in training camp with a young offensive core that looks intact — Jeanty, Bowers, Tucker, Mendoza all active — and a defense that is still being assembled around them. Rob Leonard has more pieces than he did in January. Whether he has enough depends on the next few moves.
