Dana Brown is back in Atlanta
The Braves have brought back Dana Brown as general manager, per a report Friday. Brown spent time earlier this decade as a key front-office figure in Atlanta before taking the GM job in Houston, and his return signals that the organization is ready to make a significant structural move heading into the offseason.
The timing is notable. This was a 94-win season that clinched the NL East, but the rotation spent most of the second half in triage — Spencer Strider never came back, Joe Jimenez is still on the 60-day IL, and Chris Sale and Grant Holmes were essentially a two-man staff by September. The offense went quiet when it mattered most. Brown inherits a roster with real offensive pieces — Acuña and Albies locked in for 2027, Olson still producing — but the pitching infrastructure needs more than a patch job.
What Brown actually does with the rotation this winter is the question worth watching. That's the work ahead.
