Colts Already Covered This Ground — Here's What's Worth Adding

Already filed on this one Monday. The short version: Indianapolis made a roster move at cornerback on August 4 and worked out three additional players at the position, the first visible acknowledgment that the depth chart there is genuinely thin heading into the season.

The context that holds: Charvarius Ward played only seven games last year and was well below what you'd expect from a starting corner even when healthy. He's the one player at that spot who logged meaningful time, and the names behind him on the current depth chart — Justin Walley, Rob Carter — haven't established themselves yet. One move and a handful of workouts doesn't close that gap, but it confirms the team knows the gap exists.

Sauce Gardner is listed as questionable in camp, which is worth watching as this position group sorts itself out. Nothing more to report on that yet.
