Carter Is Listed Questionable, and the Defense Can't Afford to Find Out What That Means
Abdul Carter is on the injury report this week, listed Questionable. The active storylines file noted him leaving practice with an ankle injury earlier in the coverage window, and now a calf issue is the concern. The distinction matters less than the pattern: the rookie edge rusher has been nicked up, and at 2–3 the Giants don't have a lot of room to absorb that.
The defense has been the one place this team could point to something building. Brian Burns is an established presence off the edge — good enough to land at No. 14 on the NFL's top 100 — but a pass rush runs deeper than one player, and Carter was starting to look like the second piece of something real. Losing him for even a game changes the math on how opposing offenses approach that front.
He's Questionable, not out. That's worth noting. But this team has watched enough Questionable tags turn into missed games this season — Nabers has been on that list for weeks — to know the designation doesn't always resolve cleanly. The next few days of practice will tell the story.
