Bryant Goes to IR, and Humphrey Is Now the Third Receiver
Pat Bryant is on injured reserve, and Lil'Jordan Humphrey is the guy Denver is turning to. That's the transaction. It's also a fair summary of where the receiver room stands right now.
Humphrey has been active, and he's logged snaps this season — he's the second receiver on the depth chart behind Courtland Sutton. But the drop from Sutton to everyone else has been the quiet concern all year. Troy Franklin is the proven secondary option, and after him the room gets thin fast. The offseason additions were always contingency pieces, not solutions. Bryant going down removes one of those pieces.
The position was already flagged as a problem before the season started — only two receivers with meaningful playing time, when a functional rotation typically carries three. That number hasn't improved. Humphrey stepping into a larger role isn't a crisis on its own; it's what the depth chart now requires of him.
