Brewers Add Two Gold Gloves to a Championship Haul Already Overflowing
Milwaukee's celebration extended into November when the Brewers picked up two Gold Glove Awards, the third time in franchise history the organization has landed multiple winners in the same year. The hardware arrived days after the city's championship parade through downtown Milwaukee, capping a postseason run that ended with a 4–1 win over Tampa Bay in Game 5 and a four-games-to-one World Series victory — the first title in the franchise's history.
William Contreras was the face of the October run. The NL All-Star catcher batted .381 in the Series and won 10 of 13 ABS appeals, earning World Series MVP honors and becoming the eighth catcher in history to claim that award. Aaron Ashby added his own entry to the record books during the run, breaking the MLB mark for consecutive scoreless innings by a reliever in a single postseason — a fitting capstone for a bullpen that carried the team through a rotation thinned by injuries all season.
Jacob Misiorowski, who went 19–5 with a 2.04 ERA during the regular season, left Game 5 early with a calf cramp but had done enough by then. The Brewers won anyway, which is more or less how their entire year went.
