Bradford to Injured Reserve, and the Offensive Line Absorbs Another Hit
Anthony Bradford is on injured reserve. That's one more name added to a list that's been growing since training camp opened, and this one lands on the offensive line — the unit that quietly underpinned everything Seattle did on the way to a championship last February.
The depth chart at guard lists Beau Stephens at the top spot, with J.R. Sweezy logged at OG. Those are the names in front of the coaching staff right now as they figure out how to fill the gap Bradford leaves. Charles Cross, Abraham Lucas, and Christian Haynes are the top three on the broader offensive line depth chart, so the pieces are there — but pieces and continuity are different things, and continuity is what protected Sam Darnold through 4,720 passing yards last season. With Darnold himself currently out and Drew Lock running the offense, the margin for error up front is thinner than it was a month ago.
This is the kind of roster stress that title defenses tend to accumulate quietly. It doesn't make headlines the way a quarterback injury does, but it compounds. The backfield has already been reshuffled — Zach Charbonnet remains out — and now the line is working through its own personnel math. The next couple of weeks will tell you something about how deep this roster actually is.
