Another Name on the List Before Thursday Night

Tampa Bay's Tuesday injury report ahead of the Cowboys game added a new name to an already crowded list, per the team's release. The details on who and how serious are still coming into focus, but the timing is rough: the Buccaneers are days away from a Thursday night kickoff, which compresses everything — practice time, treatment windows, the ability to make any last-minute roster adjustments.

The backdrop hasn't changed since I wrote about Winfield on Monday. Jalon Daniels is the quarterback. Winfield is out two to four weeks with the rib fracture. McMillan is on IR. Anthony Nelson is questionable. Ko Kieft is questionable. Benjamin Morrison is questionable. That's a lot of uncertainty packed into a short week for a team that is still looking for its first win.

Dallas is not an ideal opponent for a backup making what amounts to a starting debut under these conditions. Whatever the new name on Tuesday's report turns out to be, it lands on a roster that has very little margin left.
