Angels Part Ways With Kurt Suzuki After Franchise-Worst 100-Loss Season

The Los Angeles Angels have declined Kurt Suzuki's contract option and will not bring him back for a second season, the team announced Wednesday. Suzuki's lone year as manager ended with a 62–100 record, the most losses in the franchise's 66-year history and the first time the Angels have lost 100 games in a single season.

Suzuki took over a roster already in transition — Stan Kroenke's ownership change completed during the season, John Mozeliak installed as interim GM — and the club never found stable footing. The Angels finished fourth in the AL West and were effectively eliminated from playoff contention well before September. The search for a new manager for 2027 begins now.
