Allen Ties Kelly. Gardner-Johnson Costs Them a Game.
Buffalo beat the Raiders 33–30, and Josh Allen tied Jim Kelly's franchise passing touchdown record in the process. That is a real milestone — Kelly built the standard for this franchise across four Super Bowl runs, and matching him means something in Buffalo. Allen did it in considerably fewer games, which tells you everything about how the game has changed and how good Allen has been.
The Gardner-Johnson suspension is the other story, and it is a worse one. The grounding lists him under suspension status, and the depth chart shows he accounts for the majority of the safety production behind him — Geno Stone is next in line. Losing your top safety to a spitting incident is the kind of self-inflicted damage that a team fighting for playoff seeding cannot afford. This Bills group has already shown it struggles in close games; it does not need to manufacture additional problems.
The win keeps Buffalo moving in the right direction after a stretch that had the receiving room in crisis. That part of the team has stabilized somewhat — Moore and Coleman are back active, Palmer and Brown cleared their Questionable tags. The discipline issue is newer and, frankly, more avoidable. One game without Gardner-Johnson is probably manageable. The concern is what it signals about a team that has been here before — talented, dominant in stretches, and occasionally its own worst enemy when the margin gets thin.
